Position description Are you someone who is passionate about data and transformation?
At Saint-Gobain Digital, we are looking for a Big Data Integration Engineer to work remotely to create customer and business value as part of a digital transformation.
This Data Engineer will be a part of our enthusiastic Data team who strive to move our business forward and are proud to work for our us. This exciting role will see you being responsible for delivering robust interfaces of data for analytics projects and business reporting; ensuring quality, reconciliation and recoverability. On top of that, they will advise the business on the feasibility of solutions from existing data sources and potential new applications.
Assist in implementing automated data integrations in partnership with Data Analytics, Data Science and business intelligence (BI) teams
Delivery of high quality, responsive, efficient data platforms that are robust and scalable
Development of data delivery including the ETL/ELT (Extract Transform Load / Extract Load Transform) layer, Data Modelling, Administration and Configuration
Creation and modification of tables and views in layers of the data platform for consumption by BI Developers, analysts, and business users
Define quality assurance procedures, review test plan scope, and ensure that appropriate evidence is captured for audit trail and effective peer review
Responsible for building and maintaining reliable and scalable data pipelines on a big data platform
Performing thorough data profiling, testing and validation in order to ensure the accuracy of data transformations and data verifications
Analysis and documentation of business and technical requirements
Work with ETL Partners in the delivery of or enhancement to Data Platforms
Perform proactive monitoring of supported systems in order to identify any potential issues and minimise any potential disruption to the business
Develop of supportable Interfaces, analytics projects and business reporting solutions
Resolution of Data Issues in the Pipelines
Experience of using data engineering tools – i.e.: Ability to ingest and process data from a variety of technology sources including flat files, traditional databases (SQL Server, Oracle), API’s, unstructured data into a form suitable for analysis for both batch and streaming sets
Working knowledge of data quality and data cataloguing tools (i.e Microsoft Purview)
Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Azure ADLS/Synapse/Synapse pipelines or similar technology
Experience of large-scale data loading and transformation
Good knowledge of Big Data querying tools
Strong experience in data management (interface/migration/ETL/ELT/storage/reporting) working with large scale systems optimised for performance
Good knowledge and understanding of relational databases and SQL querying skills, as well as NoSQL databases
Experience of developing and maintaining databases with recognised physical and logical data models
Understanding of the principles of Data Governance and GDPR, and the ability to incorporate them into designs
Experience of reconciliation of data across systems, fault-diagnosis and resolution of data issues
Experience of providing data services and support to business users and third parties
Utilisation of a metadata system where all available data is maintained and catalogued
