Automated Testing Specialist

About the Role:

Join our Clients dynamic team responsible for the deployment of Oracle Databases across the organisation. They have developed automated pipelines that enable their internal development teams to request databases for their applications effortlessly. You will own the tools and scripts that deploy and maintain these databases to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the realm of automated testing.
  • Operate independently, showcasing a strong understanding of platform-oriented products.
  • Define and implement testing strategies as code-base changes occur, addressing integration and regression risks and providing effective solutions.
  • Identify and drive potential improvements in automating, uplifting, and defining unit testing for various components.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure robust testing of the entire stack, including:
  • VM/Infrastructure Layer : Adapt to changes in OS versions and Oracle versions.
  • API Layer : Manage Python FAST APIs used for database provisioning and management requests.
  • Deployment Layer : Oversee multiple Ansible builds/playbooks triggered by the API layer.
  • Scripting Layer : Utilize internally built packages containing shell scripts for database management.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience and expertise in automated testing.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of platform-oriented products and their unique testing requirements.
  • Proven track record in defining and executing comprehensive testing strategies.
  • Technical proficiency with VM/Infrastructure layers, API layers, deployment layers, and scripting layers.
  • Bonus: Capability to build automation solutions post-strategy definition.
  • Bonus: Knowledge of Oracle Cloud and Oracle Databases.
