Charles Heart & Lung Specialists clinic contains the subspecialties of Non-invasive Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Structural Heart. Together, these specialists deliver a complete patient centered program of care for patients with cardiac conditions. The program delivers care in the outpatient setting throughout Central Oregon and inpatient hospital care at the St. The SCMG Electrophysiologist is responsible for providing Cardiology services in the inpatient and outpatient setting. This includes evaluation & management services, interpretation of cardiac diagnostic studies, implanted device interrogation and electrophysiology procedures including device implants and cardiac ablations. Electrophysiology will work in collaboration with other medical specialties to assess and manage patients following established standards and practices.
Physician will work a minimum of 40 hours per week with a minimum of 36 hours patient contact time. Duties include a blend of procedures, scheduled clinic visits and interpreting cardiac diagnostic studies. Each provider has a day off each clinic week. Outpatient clinic: Patient clinic hours between 8am – 5:00 pm, with a minimum of 12 appointment slots daily. If assigned to an outreach clinic location, performed at the agreed upon interval based on clinical need in outreach area. 
~ 26 additional weekday workdays lab/clinic (9/10 weekdays scheduled)
Charles Bend Hospital with clinic in the Bend Heart & Lung Center plus any agreed upon Heart & Lung Specialist outreach clinic. 
Examines, diagnoses, and provides a broad scope of treatments for cardiac disease processes
Performs interpretation of electrocardiograms, cardiac monitors, device interrogations according to the established cardiac diagnostic reading standard.
Performs electrophysiology procedures as including but not limited to cardiac ablation, cardiac device implant, removal, upgrade and lead replacement.
Performs patient examinations, obtains and records pertinent medical history, subjective, and objective findings. 
Utilize appropriate risk calculators as a part of assessment for patients and is familiar with new studies, emerging technology and medications beneficial to the patients being treated.
Interprets and integrates data to determine diagnosis, and therapeutic plan.
Orders and performs appropriate medical procedures in accordance with State law and practice guidelines.
Educates patients regarding health, illness prevention, and healing. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
Triages patient telephone calls, providing consultation as needed.
Maintains quality of clinical practice by selecting appropriate avenues for professional growth.
Document all patient care within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and complete all necessary tasks in compliance with health system policies and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and accurate billing. 
Participate in SCMG physicians meetings and assist in policy formation for SCMG and Physician’s practice.
Keep medical knowledge and skills current through regular CME activity. Charles Health System hospitals sufficient to permit performance of job duties.
Educates, counsels, and assists patients and families regarding current health problems, health maintenance activities and preventive behaviors.
Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, supporting the health system’s corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner, reporting known or suspected violations of applicable rules, and cooperating fully with all health system’s investigations and proceedings.
Graduation from an accredited medical school.
Successful completion of an accredited residency program in Cardiology.
Board certified or eligible in Electrophysiology to be board certified or qualified to sit for the boards in primary area of practice at the Hospital. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency or fellowship training are required to become board certified within seven years of residency or fellowship training.
Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet SCHS driving requirements.
Maintain unrestricted ability to participate in Medicare / Medicaid, or other federal or state governmental health care programs.
Experienced in hospital and outpatient practice environments providing care in Cardiology.

Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems.
Intermediate in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel).
Never (0%): Heat, cold, wet/slippery area, noise, dust, vibration, chemical solution, uneven surface.
