We’re looking for a *Director, Emerging Business in London, UK*
Liberty Global has identified an opportunity to more effectively pursue revenue adjacencies by exploiting fragmentation, new digital models, availability of capital and core business synergies to co-activate new value programs with OpCos. Adjacency incubation requires tenacious senior resource closely connected with central corporate development and finance to develop business cases and plans.
formulate and model new value programs across core, near core and expanded adjacencies such as: security, advertising, healthcare, energy, cyber, financial services and IOT
* work closely with Liberty Tech, Corporate Strategy and the VP to identify and establish corporate partnerships.
* Provide high-quality strategic analysis and implementation support to active initiatives.
* Work to activate initiatives within our new Emerging Business framework, focused on extending Liberty Global’s reach into the home
* As one of two directors in the unit - lead a small team of analysts and business developers to create a high performance culture
*Performing analysis of how and where EB could activate new revenues
* The intent of the role is to support the VP of Development and Partnerships and unit MD in developing financially rigorous models for new adjacencies. The role will be a key support to the MD and will be responsible for financials, investment development and interaction with key LG stakeholders related to same.
The successful candidate is joining a small, agile team to realise the opportunity within the European market. Model and assess commercial/investment structures in order to activate new revenue programs
* Corporate development, finance, ELT senior stakeholder management
Minimum Bachelor’s degree, focus in TMT or Finance preferred
* A proven knowledge of corporate finance, accounting, and strategy experience and ability in efficiently and accurately building standard business models, assessing fundamental strategic elements of a business (both mature and early-stage)
* Ability to scope and pitch new businesses and ideas, and manage senior stakeholders
* Direct experience building, running media and Telco related infrastructure/product initiatives
* Demonstrable experience in the TMT space in both the consulting/accounting/M&A space and on the client side
* Exposure to agile ways of working/ design thinking is an added bonus
* Any additional European languages is an added bonus
Adept at navigating and developing relationships within a European commercial and cultural context.
* Ability to bridge tech, commercial and consumer domains
* Foundational knowledge of financial/strategic planning and M&A Investment
* Collaborative work ethic, professional respectful demeanor with the gravitas to influence senior decision makers
