Position: Land Acquisition Manager Location: South East England - Remote with Travel
Employment Type: Full-time (Permanent)

Thor Engineering is currently partnered with a European Developer who have multiple offices across the EU. They are in search of a new Land Acquisition Manager to support the growth of their origination pipeline.

Your role would be to support the growth of their UK pipeline by securing viable land for Wind/Solar & BESS projects.


The Land Acquisition Manager will work in a cross-functional team to successfully source and originate land for renewable projects in the UK.

Site Identification and Assessment: Identify appropriate land suitable for the establishment of renewable projects.
Engage in negotiations with landowners to secure agreements, leases, options, and easements, aiming for advantageous terms that facilitate project development while nurturing positive relationships.
Conduct extensive investigations into potential sites, encompassing land title searches, environmental assessments, planning constraints, and adherence to regulatory stipulations.
Cultivate and sustain relationships with local communities, governmental entities, environmental bodies, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure project alignment and minimize associated risks.
Remain abreast of market dynamics, regulatory shifts, and competitive landscapes pertinent to land acquisition for solar and battery storage projects within the UK.

Demonstrated success in negotiating and closing commercial transactions with various parties, including Landlords, Landowners, Brokers etc..
A Bachelor's degree is ideal, and an MSc degree is preferred.
Proficiency in RES projects, specific regional regulations, and market mechanisms.
Additional experience in IPP project acquisition, community solar, national and regional grid analysis, multinational environments, legal, and full-cycle development would be advantageous.
