A leading food and beverage company renowned for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation. They are seeking a skilled Customs and Trade Compliance Officer to join our team in line with growth and the increasing complexity of global trade regulations.
The Customs and Trade Compliance Officer will play a critical role in ensuring that all their product import activities comply with national and international customs regulations and trade laws. This position requires a meticulous and proactive individual who can navigate the complexities of customs procedures, trade compliance, and regulatory requirements efficiently.
Customs Compliance: Ensure all import transactions comply with national and international customs laws and regulations. Trade Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in trade policies, agreements, and regulations that may affect the company's import operations. Advise on tariff classifications, value declaration, and duty management to optimise trade benefits and comply with legal standards.
Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between the company and customs authorities, trade regulators, and other relevant bodies. Ensure effective communication and resolve any compliance issues that may arise.
Risk Management: Conduct audits and assessments of import processes and documentation to identify potential compliance risks. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
Training and Development: Educate staff on customs and trade compliance policies and procedures. Foster a culture of compliance throughout the organisation.
Continuously evaluate and improve customs and trade compliance processes and systems to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in customs and trade compliance, preferably in food and beverage or a related sector, is required.
In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, trade compliance, and international trade agreements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customs authorities and regulatory bodies.
Proficiency in customs and trade compliance software and systems.
Hybrid working, three days a week requirement in office.
