We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join this Multi AA Rosette restaurant located in Southport. Sous Chef Ideal Profile:

  • Skilled in various cooking techniques and cuisines, with a deep understanding of flavors and modern culinary trends
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, capable of efficiently managing a kitchen team and overseeing food preparation
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and foster a positive and productive work environment
  • Excellent organisational skills for managing kitchen operations, including inventory, scheduling, and workflow
  • Creativity in menu development, balancing cost-effectiveness with guest preferences
  • Knowledgeable in health and safety regulations, with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and food handling standards

Sous Chef Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen activities, including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation, and ensuring food quality and freshness
  • Collaborate on new menu items, test new dishes, and maintain the high-quality standards expected in each dish
  • Direct the training and development of kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety standards and high-quality service to guests
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment by enforcing health and safety standards and ensuring all staff follow proper sanitation practices
  • Manage kitchen inventory effectively, monitoring supplies, minimizing waste, and controlling food costs without compromising quality
  • Address any kitchen issues promptly, including equipment problems or food supply challenges, ensuring continuous operations
