Job Description:
As the Head of Conveyancing Department, you will lead our conveyancing team in delivering high-quality legal services in property transactions. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the conveyancing department, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Your responsibilities will include managing a caseload of complex conveyancing matters, providing guidance and support to junior solicitors and support staff, and fostering strong client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the conveyancing department, including supervising solicitors and support staff.
- Oversee all aspects of property transactions, including sales, purchases, transfers, and remortgages.
- Manage a caseload of conveyancing matters from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and clients are kept informed throughout the process.
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients on property law matters.
- Review and draft legal documents, including contracts, leases, and transfer deeds.
- Conduct due diligence and title searches to identify any legal issues affecting the property.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other relevant parties to facilitate smooth transactions.
- Stay updated on changes in property law and regulations, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years PQE with a valid practicing certificate.
- Extensive experience in conveyancing law, with a proven track record of managing complex property transactions.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound knowledge of property law, conveyancing procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Ability to prioritize workload and multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
- Commitment to delivering excellent client service and maintaining high ethical standards.
