Job Description

Avocet Commercial Careers has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Learning and Development (L&D) Business Partner with expertise in manufacturing to join a growing and ambitious company based in South Devon. This post is initially an Interim position, anticipated at 6 months.

Our client is seeking an L&D professional to take on a newly created role. In this position, you will work closely with stakeholders across all business areas, identifying training needs, designing and implementing learning solutions, and evaluating their effectiveness. While manufacturing will be a key focus, you will serve as an expert to all managers, offering insights and recommendations to enhance employee performance aligned with business strategy.

Learning & Development Business Partner Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with senior management to develop, and execute strategic L&D initiatives, both within manufacturing and across the broader business.
  • Utilising data to take to senior stakeholders with comprehensive reports on L&D initiatives.
  • Crafting and delivering training programs, workshops, and resources to enhance employee comprehension and retention of manufacturing principles and procedures.
  • Conducting training sessions for employees at all organisational levels, ensuring alignment with regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Providing managerial coaching and support to facilitate the integration of L&D initiatives within teams.
  • Assessing and refining training programs based on feedback, evaluations, and evolving manufacturing regulations.
  • Remaining abreast of manufacturing updates and regulations, incorporating pertinent information into training materials.
  • Collaborating with diverse business units to ensure congruence between training efforts and organisational objectives.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date training records and overseeing the training management system.
  • Coordinating with external vendors, consultants, and training providers as necessary.

Learning & Development Business Partner Requirements:

  • Available for a quick start and able to commit for 3-6 months on an Interim basis
  • Demonstrated experience in L&D roles, with a focus on manufacturing training.
  • Desirable qualifications such as CIPD L&D, ILM Coaching, or similar.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing regulations and standards.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing L&D strategies.
  • Strategic acumen, understanding the nexus between L&D and broader business strategy.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, fostering robust relationships across all organisational levels.
  • Analytical prowess, adept at data gathering and interpretation.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation abilities.
  • A proactive and positive demeanour.
