Hays Legal is exclusively instructed by this organisation seeking to appoint a number 2 to the GC & Co Sec. This appointment is a key strategic hire at an exciting time for this organisation due to massive transformation and investment and would suit an experienced lawyer (5/6+ to more senior) with a strong commercial contracts background, gained in-house or in private practice.
Reporting to the General Counsel, you will enjoy finding commercial solutions and having a results-orientated approach.
Supporting the GC in providing legal advice and counsel to the key senior stakeholders on a broad range of legal matters, including contracts, commercial transactions, employment law, data privacy, intellectual property and regulatory compliance. Responsible for the day-to-day managing and supervising of a junior lawyer
Training - designing and delivering training on legal and regulatory matters
Involvement in managing external legal relationships with law firms and other advisors
Proactively identifying and mitigating legal risks
Helping to develop and implement legal policies and procedures.
Contributing to the development and execution of overall business from a legal perspective.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level to senior lawyer seeking a pivotal role within an organisation.
You will have significant general legal experience, having advised on a range of commercial contracts. Hybrid working - applications are welcome from lawyers outside of Yorkshire (specifically North West, North Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire & Lincolnshire) but lawyers must live within a commutable distance of South Yorkshire.
