About the team

The Data & AI Nexus' mission is to elevate our partnering ecosystem with enhanced user experiences and innovation, embedding a data-driven culture within the organization to streamline operations while ensuring proper data governance and compliance. By building our modern Data & AI technology stack composed of Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, OpenSearch, OpenAI and other AWS Managed Services including API Gateway, Lambda Functions, S3 buckets, and Github, we are committed to providing AI-powered matching services and source data systematically into our partnering ecosystem while maintaining the highest standards of data quality, privacy, integrity, and security.

Job Overview

We are looking for a passionate Analytics Engineer to join our newly established team who is excited about transforming data into actionable insights. You will be responsible for building and maintaining core data models, developing metrics, and ensuring the availability of high-quality data for analysis to enable business critical Data and AI-powered use cases. You love working with stakeholders and will collaborate with cross-functional teams in the Technology department, as well as business stakeholders in the Product team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data models and transformations in dbt.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver analytical solutions.
  • Determine and implement measures and data transformations aiming to achieve desired data quality in the warehouse (Snowflake).
  • Ensure data governance and compliance standards are adhered to.
  • Create and maintain documentation for data models, transformations, and processes.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data modeling flows to ensure performance and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Analytics Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in dbt, SQL and Python.
  • Proficiency using Snowflake or other Data Warehouse vendors.
  • Experience with data contracts and tools for data quality enforcement (e.g., Great Expectations).
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Github.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Fluent in English (French is a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Master’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity or interest in life-science/Pharma/drug development process is an important plus

It would be a plus if you have:

  • Experience with implementing Medallion Architecture practices for data transformations.
  • Familiarity with data transformation and enrichment practices to optimize full-text search-based use cases.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with NLP-based algorithms and data services for disambiguation.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI concepts and tools.
  • Familiarity with orchestration services (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Mage).
  • Certifications in AWS or other relevant technologies.
