Reporting to the Chief People Officer and being the named Deputy for HR operational matters for the Chief People Officer the postholder is a core member of the HR Senior Leadership Team. The post holder will be accountable for leading and managing the provision of a strategic, operationally professional and business-focused Human Resource service to all Divisions across the Trust.


Through the Human Resources Business Partners, the Recruitment, Corporate HR (including Recruitment), Medical Staffing Senior Business Partner and Workforce Planning and ESR Senior Business Partner, the post holder is accountable and responsible for the provision of HR services toensure that all staff related issues are comprehensively and effectively addressed through proactive and best practice human resource advice and delivery. Leading on the governance to ensure that resources are available to enable all Trust wide policies, procedures and systems are in place to provide regular updates of these policies in accordance with Agenda for Change terms and conditions, legislation and equalities and inclusion initiatives.


Consistent Best Practice Human Resources operational practices for and on behalf of the Trust.


Provide lead professional and strategic HR advice and manage and develop the Strategic and Operational Human Resources service providing direction and support to the Human Resources Business Partners and acting as a source of specialist knowledge on professional issues.


Provide information and expert advice and support to Directorates and Divisions across the organisation in order to facilitate the development and management of staff and the modernisation of services, ensuring that they are consistent with national Best Practice initiatives and legislation and agreed local and national Human Resources, Workforce Planning and Workforce Development strategies.


Provide guidance, leadership, training and coaching to and develop skills and competencies of the Human Resources team to ensure the consistent delivery of a high quality service through the provision of professional updates and information.


Evaluate and inform the Trust wide Human Resources team about the latest research and developments in employee relations, pay and conditions of service, employment law, workforce development and training.
