The role

The Firm are looking for a Contracts Manager to be responsible for the management of a number of our Government Sector key accounts, to be based at our Cambridge, Manchester, Norwich or Birmingham offices.

Working closely with Client Relationship Partners, client service teams and business support teams, this Contract Manager will play a pivotal role in the client experience, developing a key understanding of individual client needs as well as ensuring all contractual parameters and requirements are managed effectively to mitigate risk, and to maintain / grow account the relationship and profitability.

The person

The role requires someone who:

  • Has a proven track record of managing large complex contracts and client relationships including monitoring and reporting on compliance with established contractual agreements.
  • Is a strong strategic thinker with exceptional relationship building skills and proven experience managing large complex contract relationships.
  • Can develop deep understanding of client specific requirements throughout the client journey/relationship (including onboarding, billing and post-completion) and ensure client teams deliver on these requirements.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills for effectively liaising and managing both client key stakeholders and internal teams, at a variety of levels.
  • Has excellent written as well as verbal communication skills and so is able to demonstrate that they can convey complex matters in a way that different audiences can understand.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage performance and compliance of key contracts and agreements throughout their lifecycle.
  • Regularly liaise with clients (at a variety of levels), often being a first point of contact, to ensure we deliver an outstanding client experience.
  • Advise and support internal stakeholders on contractual matters, such as contract interpretation, risk assessment, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Liaising with/being the initial point of contact for the client inception team, in terms of conflict checks (both commissioning and then processing and follow-up).
  • Liaising with/being the initial point of contact for work allocation (working with matter manager/partner).
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on client requirements and contract management processes and systems.

Pre-employment screening

Disclosure and barring service check and security clearance

This post is also subject to a satisfactory response from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) (to check for any previous criminal convictions and cautions) and, given the nature of the work-type, you may also be required to undergo national security vetting to SC level – the latter can be undertaken following commencement of employment.
