The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a highly organised and proactive Business Support and Team Administrator , to join our team based in Cambridge . In this key role, you'll play a vital part in supporting our onsite Management Team and ensure smooth operational processes for over 180 Avantor Services associates. You'll manage day-to-day administrative tasks, facilitate meetings, and oversee critical onboarding and offboarding activities, all while contributing to our mission of delivering world-class scientific support.
This full-time, permanent position is based at our brand-new facility at The Discovery Centre on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. Working hours : Monday to Friday, core hours
The Team
You'll be joining a team of highly skilled professionals, passionate about supporting scientific innovation. Our team brings together expertise in scientific support, supply chain, logistics, and business operations. You'll be part of our Lab and Production Services division, which supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories globally, driving research and development within the Life Sciences sector.
What we're looking for
Education:
GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
Experience:
Facilitating meetings on-site and booking travels for management team A minimum of three years' experience in a similar role, supporting a Leadership Team/Head of Department/Head of Services, ideally within the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry Line management experience is highly desirable, as this role has the potential to evolve into a people management position Strong reporting and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint for senior-level presentations Proven ability to manage spreadsheets related to budgets, costs, and overall spend. Experience in facilitating meetings and managing travel arrangements for senior management How you'll thrive and create an impact
Act as the daily administrative point of contact for 180+ Avantor Services associates, including onsite Management Team and Head of Services, ensuring seamless communication and operational efficiency across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders Oversee the maintenance of internal communication platforms, ensuring up-to-date content, accurate distribution lists, and the timely administration of compliance and H&S documentation Organize and facilitate high-level meetings for senior management, handling everything from agenda preparation and minute-taking to action tracking and coordinating complex travel arrangements. Act as a key support to the Head of Avantor Services, driving business initiatives and supporting strategic projects to enhance operational effectiveness and organizational success Lead the coordination of on-boarding and off-boarding processes, managing relationships with internal departments and client to ensure smooth transitions and appropriate accesses for all new hires #LI-Onsite
