Manpower is currently recruiting for a Despatch Clerk on a permanent basis within a leading UK manufacturer of essential clay and concrete building products based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The successful Despatch Clerk will be responsible for operating an efficient site front office. The experience expected from applicants, as well as additional skills and qualifications needed for this job are listed below. Main duties will include: Plan, co-ordinate and manage all Office & Despatch activities in a safe, efficient and effective manner Assist site management in the implementation of H&S, Environmental, Quality aspects of the operation to meet and/or exceed legislative requirements and Company standards. Actively support the development and improvements in the Sustainability performance of sites. Assist management in generating information that needs to be reported to business as required, weekly/monthly Within Despatch & administration duties ensure the control of finished stocks, packaging, raw materials etc Ensure that Company Purchasing procedures are followed at all times. Liaise regularly with other parts of the business to ensure we maximise site performance. This to include commercial, supply chain, logistics etc Undertake any relevant training as requestedIdeally, I am looking for a flexible self-starter, with good literacy, numeracy & computer skills, experience in despatch or administration in a fast-moving building materials office environment would be ideal, but not essential. The role requires a high level of contact with internal/external departments and key customers therefore the job holder needs to have excellent communication skills and be able to develop good working relationships Requirements for the role: Office & administration experience. Good Computer skills in Excel & Word. Knowledge building products business Own transport to location of the company Excellent telephone mannerSalary offered is £ 25,707, company pension and 27 days holiday. You will be required to work Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5.00pm with an hour for lunch.
