Gas & Power Trade Operations Analyst

Our client stands out as a fast-growing multi-asset systematic investment manager, pioneering macroeconomic strategies with unmatched fund performance and leading the industry against their peers. This is a newly created Gas & Power Operations Analyst position to support the trading desk.
This newly created role supports the physical commodities trading desk, working alongside a highly experienced and impressive Gas & Power Commodities expert. We are open to different experience levels. However, some prior gas & power operations experience is required.
Primary responsibilities will include coverage of the European gas and power markets. Prior experience in these markets is an advantage but not essential. Responsibilities include involvement in the full trade lifecycle from pre-trade through to execution, confirmation, and reconciliation. You will be experienced liaising with power and gas schedulers to ensure physical positions are correct prior to nomination deadlines, handle trade control and validation for physical and financial trading of power, gas, capacity, and storage, and reconcile OTC derivative and exchange positions versus in-house risk management systems and external fund administration. Daily trade validation and position reconciliation, ensuring all trades are captured and validated according to company procedures, will also be key responsibilities.
Candidates will demonstrate they are adaptable, proactive, inquisitive, motivated team players with approximately 2-5 years of gas & power trading operations experience. The successful incumbent will thrive in a high-energy environment and seek an environment that offers enormous training and development opportunities. This role will suit flexible individuals who enjoy the excitement and challenges of high-volume trading and are highly organised with a 'can do' attitude.
