Islington Norfolk, United Kingdom Teach Now Full time €85 - €100

SEN TA with Specialism in Challenging Behaviours

Hours of Work: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Term Time

Job Type: Full Time, Long Term

About the school:

Our vibrant and inclusive nursery and primary school is a place where every child is encouraged to grow into a confident, happy all-rounder with a love of learning. We pride ourselves on offering a broad and dynamic curriculum in multi-age classrooms, which not only nurtures the academic potential of each child but also fosters the development of social, emotional, and life skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

Our school operates as a close-knit, 1-form entry community, where staff collaboration is highly valued, and each member plays an integral role in the success of our students. With small class sizes, you’ll have the opportunity to form strong bonds with pupils and colleagues alike. Our teaching philosophy centres around developing the whole person—mind, body, heart, and soul—and we believe that every child has the potential to shine.

We are seeking an empathetic, patient, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in challenging behaviours to join our dedicated team. Working closely with the head teacher and SENCo, you will help implement tailored strategies and interventions to ensure these pupils can access the curriculum and thrive in the school environment.

You’ll be working with students across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, providing both 1:1 support and small group interventions. Your work will be essential in helping to create a positive, structured environment where all children feel safe and supported.

Previous experience working with children with challenging behaviours, preferably within a school setting.

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with challenging behaviours.

• Support the school’s ethos of inclusivity by promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.

Joining our school means becoming part of a supportive and forward-thinking community where your contributions are valued. You’ll work in a school that’s committed to professional development, offering regular training and opportunities to grow in your role. With our excellent location in Islington, you’ll enjoy the benefits of a vibrant local community, easy transport links, and access to a wide range of amenities. We offer competitive daily rates and the satisfaction of working in a school where every day brings new challenges and rewards.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. However, we will keep your CV and continue to help you in your search for a job within education. Teach Now is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Clearance
