Salary: Competitive Your Mission Awaits As a Senior Mission Systems Engineer, you'll dive into the exciting world of Onboard Computing Systems. Here’s what you’ll be doing: Lead the design and development of computing architectures and hardware/software solutions for FCAS products. Collaborate with various teams, leveraging your expertise in systems architecting, IMA-based computing, MBSE, security, and more. Build strong relationships with internal and external partners, including industry leaders in the UK, Japan, and Italy. Mentor and develop less experienced team members, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration. Represent BAE Systems in meetings, tackling engineering, schedule, and cost challenges with a collaborative spirit. Manage and resolve complex problems, balancing business and customer needs to ensure timely and effective solutions. Your Skills and Experience We’re looking for someone who brings: A degree in a STEM discipline, HND/HNC, or equivalent experience. Proven knowledge of Systems Engineering and the Engineering Lifecycle, especially in safety and security contexts. Experience working with high-level stakeholders, both nationally and internationally. Hands-on experience with complex computing solutions, particularly in avionics or systems integration. Familiarity with VHDL, Verilog, Simulink, or similar languages. A passion for developing innovative solutions that meet challenging performance and regulatory requirements. About the Integrated Onboard Computing Team You’ll be part of the Mission Systems Delivery Team (MSDT), responsible for designing and delivering the Mission System for the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP).
