The Vacancy

Newcastle College requires a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer inAutomotive Engineering 

The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high-quality learning programmes in light vehicle maintenance and repair, across a range of levels of further education and apprenticeship provision, as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties. 

This post requires a strong backgroundinlight vehicle maintenanceand the candidate musthave proven track record of professional / vocational expertise in theAutomotivesector. The candidate will have a good understanding of apprenticeship provision and EPA. Ideally the candidate will be muti-skilled and willing to engage in further professional development. 

The candidate must be qualified to honours degree level(Level 6) or qualified to the industry-recognised standardin a relevantfield, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE andApprenticeships and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice. 

An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a well-motivated, cohesive and successful team.
