Job Description

QA Technician

London – Night shift

Competitive salary

Our broadcast media production client delivers top-tier TV shows and films to global audiences, ensuring flawless content across all platforms. As a QA Technician you'll play a crucial role in maintaining their exceptional quality standards.

Our client’s Quality Assurance (QA) team ensures that all content delivered to VOD platforms maintains the intended quality envisioned by the creators. Their seasoned QC professionals employ a blend of manual and automated QC methods to detect any imperfections that could detract from the viewer experience. This involves thorough analysis of video, audio, and metadata under controlled conditions using both human observation and specialized software. In the event of any discrepancies, the team collaborates closely with post-production facilities and producers to rectify issues well before content reaches the viewer's screen.

Role Overview:

Playing a pivotal role in upholding top-tier quality standards within our client’s QA department, this position reports directly to the QA Supervisor. Your primary responsibility will involve reviewing content from a diverse client base and generating detailed log reports for direct distribution. A keen eye for detail, strategic acumen, and expertise across the QA spectrum are essential for success in this role. Demonstrating a strong sense of ownership for quality and a proactive mindset, you'll thrive in meeting deadlines while working autonomously.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • in QC and QA workflows within the digital media supply chain industry, ideally with working experience or at least degree/university knowledge.
  • verbal and written communication skills.
  • in English language.
  • record of leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • understanding of file formats, specifications, and efficient processing workflows.
  • with Adobe Premiere and DaVinci Resolve.
  • of broadcast, Netflix, Amazon, and other platform requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • quality benchmarks established by clients, platforms, broadcasters, and VDMS.
  • as a subject matter expert on QA workflows and technologies.
  • with supervisors to streamline workflow planning, optimizing resource utilization.
  • to client relationship management and retention efforts in partnership with the account management and sales team.
  • operational QA tasks for all clients.
  • technical specification inquiries from clients and staff.
  • deadline-related issues, collaborating with operational departments and client services for timely resolution.
  • opportunities for departmental development and contribute to the design and implementation of in-house systems and tools.
  • enhancements to QA workflows and processes.
  • hardware faults or software issues to the Head of Department and Technical Support.
