We are looking to recruit a highly motivated oceanographer into the Coastal Ocean Processes team in Liverpool, a research team that forms part of the wider Marine Physics and Ocean Climate Group at NOC.
They will use a hybrid mixture of new and existing observational data (including moorings, gliders, CTD sections, remote sensing) and model output. Application of novel data analysis and methodological approaches will be encouraged. The research will be conducted in collaboration with colleagues from across the NOC research groups and in partnership with other institutes. The role holder will also seek to achieve impact through successful uptake of their research by relevant coastal stakeholders.
The role is offered as a permanent Research Scientist level (Band 6) position.
D. in a field relevant to oceanography. You will have a portfolio of output that demonstrates an ability to generate new data sets and apply a range of data and/or model processing and analysis skills. You will have experience of delivering high-quality scientific outputs and of generating new knowledge, supported by a track record of peer-reviewed publications. You will have excellent communication skills and will be able to provide evidence of strong technical writing skills.
