There is plenty of technical expertise available to support you as you learn their sector but you will definitely come from a background of selling a technical product and/or service to your clients in order to be able to transition into this role.
You will be responsible for creating and expanding your base of leads within a two hour travelling distance of the business and handling the relationship all the way through to fulfilment of the project. If you are like many salespeople, you will prefer the detail to be then handled by someone to follow through and in this role you will be fortunate enough to have a Technical Sales Team working alongside you, with you still retaining customer contact throughout, who will be able to work directly with the client to fulfil all the technical aspects of the detailed fulfilment of the sales process up to delivery so that you are free to continue to develop more leads and progress more sales through All of your sales will be business to business, there is no business to consumer involvement in this role and the sales process will be a consultative one where you take the time to understand the potential client’s business and needs thoroughly to be able to match the features and benefits of your solution and tailor it to those needs.
The expectation of package is a combination of basic salary in the region of £30-£40k per annum dependent on experience complemented by a very generous and open ended commission and bonus structure which should see you potentially doubling your basic salary in overall remuneration dependent on your success.
