Join our Building Structures team in Birmingham as our new Principal Engineer and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.
Lead the structural engineering design of projects in diverse sectors and scale from £5M to £100M.
# Encourage and celebrate innovative design, ensuring the best service and holistic building outcomes for our clients.
# Manage a team of engineers and technicians locally and nationally to deliver your projects to programme, to an excellent standard and within budget.
# Contribute to the development of our technical skills and processes, assisting the training and development of your immediate team and implementing new processes and techniques developed by our Technical Excellence team.
# Delight our existing clients by building and maintaining excellent relationships through clear proactive communication and engagement at all project stages.

As our new Principal Structural Engineer, you will be part of our Birmingham office which has doubled in number to approximately 130 in three years. Our buildings team includes structural, civil, building services, Facades and Acoustics, working alongside colleagues in Environmental and Health and Infrastructure, collaboratively sharing skills and services that deliver a one-stop engineering design service to our clients.
We are delivering exciting landmark local and national projects. We work in all market sectors including Sci-Tech and Hi-tech industrial, commercial, schools and higher education, sports and arenas, residential, commercial and the creative arts. You will have the best tools and encouraged to promote digital innovation, to be multi-disciplined in your approach and be creative. We operate a fun and inquisitive office environment and actively encourage design flair; we are recognised for our bold innovative approach, that is underpinned by our Scandinavian design heritage and foundation ownership.
From the moment you start at Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you can continue to grow with the company. Educated to a degree level or equivalent in structural / civil engineering.
# Relevant experience and insight in a variety of sectors such as schools, higher education, residential, commercial, or industrial development.
# Demonstrate the ability to be responsible for projects.
# Be an effective communicator, both written, and verbally and through digital media.
# Be experienced at planning and monitoring the commercial performance of an engineering consultancy as a business including contract management.
