Description

As Director of Digital, you will provide strategic leadership of the Digital team, with overall responsibility for Progeny’s suite of digital applications. You will develop and implement a forward-thinking digital strategy, leveraging and building on the existing Power Platform architecture and supporting Progeny’s future digital aspirations, whilst developing a high-performing team.

Utilising sound knowledge of the financial planning process, you will drive internally and externally facing digital transformation programmes, focusing on strategic objectives such as client experience improvement, profitability, operational efficiency, and propositional delivery. With excellent commercial awareness, you will uncover opportunities to enhance how Progeny interfaces digitally with clients and to automate/streamline processes to optimise and enhance our high-quality client experience.

We will consider both hybrid and home-based working for this opportunity. There will be a requirement to work from the Leeds office on a monthly basis (approximately).
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the digital strategy and provide expert strategic knowledge, experience, and promote an innovative approach to digital technologies and their adoption.
  • Provide professional and strategic leadership on digital transformation projects and BAU evolution, with a particular focus on driving an innovative approach and following strong transformation and change management principles.
  • Set a strong people strategy and provide inspirational leadership to the Digital team – developing and coaching the team in line with the business strategy and budget, and overseeing recruitment.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the architecture, delivery, effectiveness, maintenance, and resilience of the digital application landscape, including CRM / back-office systems, client-facing technologies, client servicing tools, and business applications such as HR and Finance systems.
  • Ensure that the digital architecture is cohesive and effective, primarily centred around the capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform stack.
  • Oversee the provision of a high-quality Application Support service which covers all of Progeny’s locations across the UK and internationally.
  • Stay on top of technology trends and developments and maintain full knowledge of the development roadmaps of our key digital applications, working closely with vendors to influence these roadmaps and align on best-practice ways of working together.
  • Work very closely with the operational areas of the business to understand their needs and deliver technology solutions to meet or exceed those needs.
  • Identify and create opportunities for business improvement through technology innovation, working with stakeholders from across the organisation.
  • Work closely with the Director of IT to ensure the compliance, security, and resilience of the digital application landscape, including in its relevance to Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, and Disaster Recovery planning.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Substantial experience in a senior position within technology management, supervising technology teams and providing inspirational leadership and management.
  • Strong knowledge of processes and regulations relevant to the provision of financial planning and legal services and significant experience delivering technology solutions for financial and/or legal services businesses, preferably in financial planning.
  • Demonstrable understanding of and experience in working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and complex Microsoft Power Platform-based digital architectures. (Certifications in Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Power Platform architectures are preferred).
  • Excellent general understanding of computer systems, security, systems administration, and data storage systems.
  • Good knowledge of technology project management principles and experience in strategic planning, implementation and management of large-scale, complex technology projects.
  • Experience driving successful digital transformation programmes, with a focus on innovation and automation, with a strong alignment to business goals such as operational efficiency.
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to foster a culture of innovation and positively influence change.
