About the role: Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a key business and influential player in the global energy market. The company have a vast portfolio of renewable energy assets and have a brilliant company culture of looking after their employees. We're looking for someone who already has experience in utility scale solar or BESS systems but also open to those looking for their break into the industry, so please apply if you fit either criteria. This Field Service Technician / Solar Technician / BESS Technician comes with an excellent salary, depending on your experience and at the request of the client, will be discussed upon conversation with Astute. If you're wanting to work for a genuine major player in the global energy space with growth potential, please read on and apply below. Responsibilities and duties: Reporting to the Area Manager you will: Ensure the best performance of battery storage and large scale solar assets Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar and battery sites on the Isle of Wight. Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your duties Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assets Gain Authorised Person status after received training Consistent inspection, maintenance and testing of the systems Looking for trends and using data analysis to see if you can spot any common trends and suggest ways to improve operations as a result Occasional assistance with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, some ground maintenance and site CCTV Occasional working way from your patch/area and be flexible to help when the business needs this Professional qualifications: We are looking for someone with the following: Level 3 in electrical installations as a minimum 18th edition wiring regs Ideally you will have C&G 2391 or equivalent A HSE qualification is desired Experience within a solar or BESS environment is hugely preferred UK driving licence is essential Personal skills: The Field Solar and Battery Storage Technician role would suit someone who is: Flexible with location and in travelling outside of your patch on occasion Experience liaising with third parties and troubleshooting Experience reading, writing and assessing RAMS is hugely beneficial Someone who wants to learn and make a genuine difference Salary and benefits of the Solar and Battery Technician role: Excellent starting salary On call allowance and potential overtime Up to 10% bonus Vehicle for business use only PPE and tools Company pension and paid mileage Astute Technical Recruitment Limited are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
