We are seeking an experienced and progressive leader to join our team as the Head of Unity Business Services (HR recruitment, Finance & Procurement) Data & Reporting Operations; responsible for leading the Unity team Shared Services provision cross government department. This role sits in the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) group. CFO supports our people and the running of HMRC by providing commercial, estates, finance, control, banking internal audit and Unity Business Services as well as looking after Corporate Services Transformation. This role is within the Unity Business Services area. Across government, Shared Services touches the lives of over 450,000 civil servants providing business critical tools in human resources, finance, payroll and procurement to enable employees to deliver public services. The Government Shared Services (GSS) ambition is for better services, with modernised systems, delivering the business greater value and efficiencies. Role Specification TheUnity Business Services (HR recruitment, Finance & Procurement) Data & Reporting OperationsTeam are a small specialist team operating in a fast-paced environment. The team balances standard reporting with the need to respond to constantly evolving business priorities resulting in requirements for large, complex and highly critical data sets across government to support finance, planning and recruitment. With access to one of the largest people data platforms across government, leading a team at the forefront of reporting from SAP ERP system using a variety of tools and rapidly growing the boundaries of what can be achieved. Person specification

You will be HMRCs data operations lead for Unity Business Services reporting approaches, ensuring the best solutions meet HMRCs needs. Playing a proactive role in crafting and agreeing data and reporting strategies and standards for UBS. Collaborate with the Cabinet Office, ensuring alignment with wider UBS strategy and convergence requirements. Confidently establish collaborations within HMRC, across the Civil Service and with external suppliers and partners leading strategic and technical level conversations. Comfortable working with and challenging senior leaders where necessary. Championing data security across HMRC Unity Business Service, ensuring that we remain GDPR compliant. With a passion for innovation, being able to find new opportunities, and use data and analytics to create effective consensus and appetite for change and improvement. As part of the wider HMRC Unity Business Services Leadership Team you will actively role model HMRCs values and commitments, support colleagues to develop their careers and champion wellbeing. Essential Criteria Strong experience of data and reporting to allow you to engage on both a technical and strategic level with your team and a broad range of customers. Demonstrated experience in agreeing and using critical metrics and SLAs to support business to drive performance improvements. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. A proven track record to drive business decisions through the provision of high-quality data and effective data visualisation. Proven track record of working with and influencing senior colleagues and team members. Good understanding of shared services technologies, systems and best practice
