ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT/FINANCE MANAGER - JOB DESCRIPTION

The Role

We are looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Management Accountant/Finance Manager to jal opportunity for an established finance professional to join our team and play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of this thriving business.You must be hands on, adaptable to change and capable of coping with high volumes in a growing business in a team of 3 on a permanent basis reporting directly to the Head Of Finance. The ideal candidate will have experience of producing timely accounts within the hospitality/event sector.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts - balance sheet, cashflow, full P&L

Month end procedures - posting journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany transactions

Input supplier invoices/credits, raise sales invoices and perform account reconciliations

Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations

Providing accurate and timely monthly reporting

Assisting in weekly payment run and performing bank reconciliations

Production of quarterly VAT returns along with VAT accounts reconciliation

Developing internal robust controls as the business grows

Supporting the Head of Finance and the wider team with internal audit and any ad-hoc financial projects

Liaising with external accountants and other stakeholders

Liaising with Senior Managers/Directors throughout the business

Required Experience

Minimum AAT Qualified

Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

Strong communication skills to liaise with senior stakeholders

At least 5 years experience within a similar role.

Proven track record as an individual who is able to deliver effectively and on time.

Proven experience of managing of multiple tasks simultaneously from start to finish.

Key Characteristics

Minimum 2 years experience within the hospitality sector

Able to perform under pressure and make decisions.

Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Excellent problem solving, organisational and progress control skills.

Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.

Good time management.

Self-motivated.

Ambitious.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Clear and forward thinker.
