Job Summary:
Reporting to the CTO as the Director of Technical Operations, you will implement policies and procedures to ensure the smooth running of the infrastructure supporting the business, covering dev-ops, IT, networking and tier1 support for B2C and B2B. This individual will be a change agent in our transformation to building, inspiring and guiding to deliver best in class infrastructure working in a fast paced environment that requires frequent shifts in areas of focus.
Responsibilities:
- As a leader, you will play a key role within the Engineering organization as a thought leader and champion of best practices across the infrastructure.
- Manages and promotes strong working relationships across cross-functional teams.
- Develops, implements, enforces, and improves upon tools and methods to assure new and existing products/services are supported, with a focus on continuous improvement and feedback to the business.
- Regular reporting across the business on the “Health of Tech Ops”
- Supervise the technical operations team to promote initiative, collaboration, and a proactive mentality in a fast-paced environment.
- Develops/mentors technical operations staff by recruiting, selecting, orientating, and training employees.
- Engage in team sprints to ensure that product development can deliver.
- Collaborate with Engineering Managers/Directors and the Development team to ensure delivery of high quality features.
- Evaluates and cross-trains to ensure the team is able to deliver the support the business needs.
- Works with cross-department leadership to ensure delivery of high quality infrastructure and services on schedule.
- Proactively identify areas for optimization.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- The position requires strong communication skills and will include work across multiple teams and timezones.
- 7-10 years of experience managing a Technical Operations team and experience building, growing, mentoring a technical operations team.
- A proven track record of using Jira and working in a Sprint based environment.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority efforts in parallel while ensuring the highest quality.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Experience with GCP and deployment automation tools
