Hybrid based roles and traveling to London based sites when required.1 x day a week at our Camberley based office Job Title: Curriculum Lead and IQA for English and Mathematics Employment Basis: Full Time Salary: £30,000 subject to experience Main Purpose: To be an integral member of the quality team carrying out the role of internal quality assurer and curriculum lead for English and maths. A hands-on role acting as the subject specialist across Knights Training Academy, designing engaging, innovative and inclusive curriculums and ensuring all teaching, learning and assessment in this subject are good or outstanding. Responsibilities also include leading on and being accountable for the quality and compliance of this subject area. Key responsibilities and accountabilities Internal Quality Assurance: Internally quality assure functional skills and other qualifications associated with this curriculum area. Carry out standardisation meetings, observations of assessment practices, IQA sampling and actions to ensure all courses and assessors are low risk. Collate and analyse data to ensure accuracy and identify risks to achievement. Maintain accurate records of internal quality assurance sampling, risk level and assessor support. Ensure timely and accurate submissions for Awarding Organisation external quality assurance visits. Apply all aspects of Knights IQA strategy and achieve low risk no action EQA reports. Work with the quality manager to ensure the curriculum adheres to Awarding Organisation policy and relevant regulations. Curriculum Development: Design, create and maintain an engaging, innovative, and individualised curriculum offer. Work with colleagues to embed English and maths throughout all curriculums. Identify opportunities to embed digital and other essential within the curriculum. Design and implement extension tasks that build on learners prior achievement. Work with managers to create new curriculum models in support of business growth. Collaborate with the wider team on impactful IAG, employability, enrichment and CIAG. Continually develop by investigating new practices and seeking feedback. Quality and Compliance: Be an integral part of the quality team contributing to maintaining as a minimum Ofsted good. Work with the quality team to ensure there is an effective cycle of continuous quality improvement. Work with colleagues to implement improvement strategies where risks to quality have been identified. Responsible for Ofqual, JCQ and Awarding Organisation centre compliance Audit and carry out observations and training to ensure regulations are being adhered to. Collaborate with the SENCO and exams officer to ensure all reasonable adjustments are identified, evidenced, and applied. Act as a subject lead for external stakeholder visits, inspections, and accreditations. Act a member of the Knights observation team and carry out allocated observations as per annual observation schedule. Staff Development: Work with the quality team to ensure regular and relevant CPD is taking place and that CPD logs are maintained and show currency and development. Mentor and upskill internal staff so ensure all delivery staff are qualified and are embedding and delivering English and maths content to a high standard. Mentor and support the assessment and coordination of timely Speaking and Listening assessments. Implement and deliver training to ensure all practices meet quality and compliance requirements. Take an active role in staff development/standardisation days to ensure these are impactful and relevant. General: Adhere to Knights Training Academy policies and procedures. Demonstrate a professional image, respect, partnership, and equality. Employ strategies to safeguard others, identifying risks to safety or wellbeing and following reporting procedures to facilitate timely support. Be agile in responding to the needs of all stakeholders and the wider community. Achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency through innovative practices. Be proactive in your own continuous professional development, engaging and resourcing opportunities to improve your professional practice. Carry out any other duties deemed relevant to the role and where there is a business need. Experience/Skills: Ability to design engaging and interactive teaching and learning sessions. Internal Quality Assurance Subject specialist with understanding of Functional Skills and GCSE. Experience of further education teaching, learning and assessment. Ability to work across teams and relate to colleagues and learners at all levels. Excellent communication skills and a team player. The ability to encourage and motivate people. Organisational skills and the ability to plan and manage your time. The ability to write reports, keep records, and work within budgets. Competent in the use of ICT and software packages Enhanced DBS check Relevant qualifications or willingness to achieve within an agreed timescale. Qualifications: Level 3 Certificate in Assessing or equivalent Level 4 in Internal Quality Assurance/D34 Teaching qualification English and maths above Level 2 or equivalent.
