Deputy eProcurement Manager

The post holder will be expected to lead the clinical or non-clinical category in the Procurement departments Purchase to Pay (P2P) and Information team. This involves line management responsibility for the Buyers aligned to the category and supporting the e-Procurement Manager.
The post holder will be expected to offer support, guidance, and training within the team to ensure that an effective and efficient procurement service is provided to all end-users, and that all orders are processed correctly, and usage trends are identified and acted on. This includes ensuring best practice catalogue management is adhered to within the team and supporting the Buyers with this task.
The role of the Deputy e-Procurement Manager requires the individual to work with others but also autonomously at times. The post holder is also expected to contribute to the sharing of best practice within the Procurement department so that both internal and external data sources are engaged in an effective and consistent way.
- Proactively and consistently ensure that an effective and efficient procurement service is provided that is compliant with the Trust Governance Framework Manual and Procurement legislation.
- Deliver social and environmental objectives, including working towards net zero and better environmental and social outcomes in procurement.
- Manage the operational procurement activity for the clinical or non-clinical category in the Purchase to Pay (P2P) part of the Procurement team. This involves managing the Buyer activity in relation to order processing, catalogue management, query handling and other ad-hoc duties.
- Provide support, guidance and training to procurement colleagues and end users on procurement systems.
- Provide guidance and support to line reports and other members of the team to enable them to achieve individual and team goals and objectives.
- Support the department with the implementation of GS1 standards working with operational sub-groups to develop systems and processes which support the delivery of Scan 4 Safety.
- Present the procurement function as a progressive, proactive, responsive and innovative department and ensure that an effective and efficient procurement service is provided to all end-users.

- A good standard of general education incl. GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS), working towards or with a desire to work towards membership and/or equivalent experience in a procurement role
- A broad knowledge of Procurement, Customer Care and Supply Chain Management
- Comprehensive working knowledge of order processing / catalogue systems
- Line management experience including setting objectives, conducting appraisals
- Public sector Procurement experience, preferably in a large organisation
- Experience of managing, developing and leading teams of staff
- Project and change management experience
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, IT, presentation.
- Ability to communicate at all levels both internally within the organisation and externally outside of the organisation
- Ability to demonstrate skills of persuasion and influencing
- Ability to resolve complex queries from staff, customers, and suppliers
- Ability to investigate complex queries and analyse detailed data to identify errors and discrepancies
- Sound analytical skills and a pragmatic approach to problem solving
