We are looking for an enthusiastic Internal Communications and Engagement BP to join our team. You will inform, inspire and unite our different brands based all over the world. This is a brand new role – you can shape, own and deliver the internal comms strategy for a rapidly growing, very successful business.

This is a hands on, stand alone role working across a number of teams such as People, Marketing, Finance, IT, professional services specialists and entrepreneurial business owners. How you will do this:

  • You will develop the internal communications strategy with senior business leaders, People and Marketing Teams to meet varied, wide ranging organisational needs.
  • You will take the lead on how we communicate internally with our team members on a global basis.
  • Ensure that the messages are delivered to the people who need to hear them in a format that works for them with an appropriate tone of voice.
  • Develop new and promote existing tools to ensure that the everyone is well connected, well informed and on top of what is happening throughout the world, no matter where they are situated.
  • Source, edit and deliver topical, lively and accurate news articles relating to volunteering, charity work, diversity, social events, well-being initiatives, promotions, career development, sponsorship for qualifications, green initiatives etc.
  • Work on planned and ad-hoc projects, as appropriate such as project managing to launch and maintain a new group wide intranet.
  • Be the first point of contact for internal communication enquiries and requests for support.
  • Represent internal communications on projects, initiatives or campaigns and ensure that internal communications needs are met by business, location and brand.
  • To work with the HR - People team to develop new and innovative ways to improve and improve employee engagement including training, induction and engagement activities.
  • Set up and work with a global comms champions team to shape and cascade messages in terms of our culture right through to maintaining our professional and compliance standards.
  • Collect feedback on improving internal communications through a variety of channels.
  • Produce intranet based newsletters, email bulletins, host and arrange webinars and other appropriate global communications.
  • Support the roll-out of campaigns to team members, where appropriate and in coordination with Marketing.
  • Weekly updates to work winners advising of recent sales and providing case studies, sector reports etc.
  • Announcing starters, promotions, general updates on behalf of central teams – who are they what do they do, how to contact them.
  • Cross selling - employee engagement, sharing success stories and the benefits.
  • Shaping and leading internal events across the business.
  • Embedding group mission, vision and shared purpose.
  • Ensure our intranet is the first and only port of call for best practice tips / cross sell case studies / templates /shared learning.
  • Upskilling team members to use social media and improving LinkedIn profiles working with the Marketing Team.

Ideally you will have:

  • Substantial internal communications experience in a fast paced professional services/entrepreneurial environment required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and individual communication skills. Ability to build positive relationships with people from different cultures and backgrounds and work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing competing priorities and tight deadlines. Prepared to accept responsibility for decisions and actions in this stand alone role.
  • Knowledge of working across complex, varied global businesses.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in Communications, and a proven track record in writing and editing to tight deadlines with different tones of voice.
  • A proven track record of sourcing and editing news stories and creating engaging articles in a timely manner, ensuring the story is still relevant when released.
  • Experience of managing a range of channels such as social media and intranet.
  • Experience building and managing intranet is essential.
  • We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, adaptable and innovative. Makes recommendations to improve working practices, develops creative solutions to problems, and has the ability to develop new skills and knowledge.
  • Comfortable working with multiple social media channels and intranet build and maintenance.

Hybrid role, once a month travel to Head Office in Bolton and other occasional travel may be required.
