The Role

As the Head of Data Transformation, you will be responsible for driving the commercial data strategy and ensuring data is maximised to deliver enterprise value across the business. You will play a critical role in modernising data processes, embedding a data-driven culture, and aligning the organisation’s data capabilities with its mission to reduce carbon emissions.

This role is predominantly remote, offering flexibility, with occasional travel to key sites in Wales and Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Commercial Data Strategy – Develop and implement a clear vision for how data can drive commercial value within the business, contributing to their carbon reduction mission.
  • Team Leadership – Manage and inspire a large team (50-90 people), fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the data division.
  • Embedding a Data-Driven Culture – Play a key role in instilling a strong data culture throughout the organisation, ensuring data is central to decision-making processes.
  • Regulated Environment – Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while driving transformation and efficiency improvements in data governance and operational processes.

The Ideal Candidate

Our client is looking for someone with a strong vision for the role data can play in driving business value, alongside the experience and expertise needed to execute this vision. You’ll have a background in both operational and technological leadership, particularly in high-volume data environments, and be comfortable managing teams through significant transformation.

Key skills and experience include:

  • Commercial Data Strategy Expertise – Experience developing and implementing data strategies that deliver tangible business value in complex environments.
  • Leadership Experience – Proven experience managing large teams (50-90 people), particularly in high-volume, data-centric operations.
  • Communication Skills – Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
