SAMSON Controls Ltd, part of the global SAMSON Group, is a leading manufacturer of high-performance control valves, actuators, automation systems, and advanced digital technologies for the process industry. Following the retirement of a long-serving colleague after 31 years, we are seeking an Area Sales Manager to take over this well-established region covering the South West of England and Wales. This is a field-based, autonomous role focused on supporting a strong existing customer base while developing new opportunities within key process industry sectors. What You'll Do Manage the region autonomously, taking full responsibility for territory planning, customer visits, and sales activity. Build and maintain strong relationships with end users, site engineers, maintenance teams, consultants, and project personnel. Conduct technical site surveys, understand application requirements, and recommend suitable control valve and automation solutions. Promote the full SAMSON Group product portfolio, including: - Globe, Triple offset butterfly, PTFE/PFA lined, Ceramic, Rotary plug and Ball Control Valves. - FOCUS-1 Smart Meter Valve - SAM VALVE MANAGEMENT advanced positioner diagnostics - SAM GUARD AI-based predictive monitoring software. Provide on-site technical support and guidance, ensuring customers receive the right solutions for their processes. Work closely with internal application engineers to prepare quotations, proposals, and technical submissions. Maintain accurate CRM records and support reporting, forecasting, and regional growth strategies. Represent SAMSON at customer meetings, industry events, and technical presentations. What You Bring Experience with control valves, steam systems, flow/pressure control, or broader process engineering equipment. Ability to carry out site surveys, understand process conditions, and discuss engineering applications confidently. Strong relationship and account management skills with end users and engineering stakeholders. Highly self-motivated, organised, and comfortable managing your time and region independently. Technical aptitude with a willingness to learn SAMSON's advanced digital solutions. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the territory.
