Location: Bedford, Hybrid 2/3 days per week in the office

Contract Type: 6-Month FTC

Role Purpose

• Investigating, documenting, and agreeing business requirements with the relevant stakeholders
• Assisting in the analysis of stakeholder objectives to identify potential benefits
• Working with the Solution Architect on available options for consideration
• Documenting and agreeing the acceptance criteria with the relevant stakeholders to validate that the business requirements have been met
• Manages enhancements and small change requests to existing platforms
• Acting as a key stakeholder for Project Managers to ensure that improvements and enhancements work as required and will provide benefits to our people and our customers
• Support preparation of the Change Forum and work together with stakeholders on actions and initiatives approved by the Change Forum

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Planning
  • Working with the BU Programme Manager to support the improvement of processes, tools, and capability of the Business Analysis function in BAU
• Provide an overview of all small change activity to ensure we remain within our budget
• Provide development costs and estimations to relevant finance and project teams to create accurate business cases for change
• Initiate Purchase Orders for IT small change projects
• Operational Responsibilities
  • Co-operate with the Solution Architect, taking responsibility for investigative work to determine business requirements arising from the Change Forum
  • Establish the contribution that technology can make to business objectives, defining strategies, validating, and justifying business needs, conducting feasibility studies, producing high-level and detailed business models
  • Work with the Business to methodically investigate, analyse, review, define and document business requirements identifying available options and recommending high-level solutions and MVPs
  • Facilitate the development of business requirements through discussions, workshops, and interviews with business subject matter experts
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures and standards
  • Support the Business in defining the functional and non-functional requirements
  • Contribute to solution selection activities by supporting the supplier/hardware/software selection process by providing input into the RFI, RFP etc. as well as assessing responses against requirements
  • Support the full delivery lifecycle ensuring business requirements are properly understood and met by the delivered solution including: supporting the creation and execution of test scripts, the data cleansing / migration approach, analysis and documentation of any new requirements triggered from testing defects, providing post go-live support to ensure requirements have met business needs, and support with the creation of training documentation where needed
  • Create and maintain appropriate communication channels across the organisation, to facilitate the delivery of communications to the business
  • Support improvements in analysis approach within projects i.e., by reviewing updating templates or methods used to support own work
  • Highlight when issues are encountered and seeks support to rectify
  • Manage enhancements and small change requests to existing platforms. Working closely with 3rd party suppliers and other impacted teams
  • Provide key input into capacity planning and change schedule based on the results of your analysis
  • Manage and facilitate the quality assurance activities of the project where they relate to the business requirements and benefits.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Good experience and knowledge of varying business functions.
• Involving process mapping, gap analysis and requirement gathering & documenting.
• Involvement in continuous improvement programmes
• Demonstrable knowledge of business processes and procedures at a corporate level
• Ability to influence others
• Ability to interact with business users and functional users
• Process mapping / gap analysis experience Training and use of a BPM methodology i.e. Six Sigma, Gemba Kaizen, Lean,
• Working at business and Head Office levels
• Involved in a business process redesign or transformation
• Worked with IT 3rd party suppliers
• Good understanding of system infrastructure and architecture

Scale of the role

This role will work across the whole business at all levels, facilitating the business functions to making IT changes.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships cross functionally by effectively managing expectations and inspiring confidence in delivery

• Understand agreed expectations and deliverables set with internal customers and recognise when issues/events may affect delivery
