The Pursuit Specialist (Capture Manager) delivers best practice Capture techniques that will position Arup ahead of market competitors for complex, high-value pursuits across UKIMEA. This role sits within the Marketing, Communications, and Business Development (MCBD) team within Business Development, with a remit across all of Arup's 8 Portfolios. The Pursuit Specialist will be responsible for engaging with large stakeholder groups to operate across a diverse prioritised pipeline, coordinating activities to develop coherent win strategies, and prepare Arup bid teams for large strategic tenders. The work requires a detailed understanding of Arup's value propositions and services, as well as the industries and markets in which we operate. The Opportunity Lead full business development cycle, from opportunity identification and qualification, through strategic positioning and supporting teams with the preparation of successful tenders Work closely with the regional Priority Pursuits Lead and Head of Business Development to shape and execute key UKIMEA growth strategies Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Arup to instigate effective positioning activities for key pursuits Develop and deliver business cases for investing in pursuits and compelling capture plans for qualified opportunities Act as the Capture Manager on key pursuits, ensuring alignment across teams Collaborate across Portfolios and business functions to ensure capture plans are aligned with One Arup principles Support external engagement opportunities with clients and prospective collaborators Contribute to governance and pipeline reviews, proposal activities, and delivery of Arup's short, medium, and long-term market strategies Tracking activities related to project pursuits in CRM pipeline management tools Conducting research into markets and competition Guide the development of others, providing advice, training, direction and feedback Be a valuable member of the firms' professional team by maintaining and enhancing the culture and core values of Arup At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Certification with APMP desirable Degree, postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business Development or Engineering (or other relevant qualification) Experience working in pursuits and bids in the Architecture, Engineering or Construction (AEC) industry or similar Demonstrated experience in managing complex pursuits and bids Experience of prepositioning and bidding lifecycle and bid delivery at a local office / country scale Knowledge of current AEC bidding trends and procurement methods Strong skills in analysis, problem-solving and strategic thinking Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Proficiency in marketing and communications related technologies Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong time management and people management skills Able to quickly build strong and highly collaborative and inclusive working relationships with peers, leaders and other stakeholders High level of personal integrity, professionalism, and inclusive leadership.
