Mission

As the UK Holding Companies Accountant at our organization, you will oversee and manage the financial operations of the UK holding companies. Working closely with the UK Accounting Manager, your role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and effective financial management.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journals and management month-end schedules and produce balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and subledger reconciliations.
  • Conduct balance sheet reviews and analyze costs centers.
  • Prepare statutory accounts.
  • Ensure completion of monthly management financial statements for all UK holdcos by working day +4, integrated into the Group Consolidation Tool.
  • Support the preparation and review of quarterly interim and Annual reporting under IFRS.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of tax and VAT returns for the UK holding companies.
  • Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts for the holdings.
  • Oversee intercompany activities, including fees invoicing, collection, payment, accruals, and reporting.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure underlying accounting records are maintained to audit standard and flag any known risks of non-compliance appropriately.
  • Support auditors’ engagement process for UK entities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory authorities as required.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of all financial documentation to be signed by the Board of Directors.
  • Proactively keep the Board up-to-date on relevant matters concerning UK holdcos.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as group finance, legal, and tax teams, to ensure alignment and coordination on financial matters.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities, financial institutions, Platinum deal team, and 3rd party service providers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Early career work – Big 4 public accounting experience a must, ideally with at least 3-4 years prior to moving into the industry.
  • 10-15 years total experience.
  • Prior experience managing accounting for a UK-based holding company in a PE environment.
  • SAP knowledge.

Competencies: 

  • English as a first language.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
