Location: Annan, Scotland

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (DOE)

Talento is delighted to be recruiting for a well-established company specialising in the production and distribution of quality horticultural products. Our client prides themselves on delivering exceptional service and products to their e-commerce customers, and are hiring for an experienced General Manager to join their team and continue to drive their operations forward.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and results-driven General Manager with a strong background in warehousing/production and e-commerce. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and growth. This role is crucial in helping our client to expand their market presence and enhance their customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, including warehousing, logistics, and inventory management, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
  • E-Commerce Oversight: Manage and optimise our e-commerce platforms, ensuring seamless customer experiences and driving online sales growth.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a diverse team, encouraging a positive work environment and ensuring high performance and engagement.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement business strategies to achieve company goals, improve profitability, and drive growth.
  • Financial Management: Assist Directors to oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control to ensure financial health and sustainability.
  • Customer Relations: Maintain and enhance relationships with key customers and suppliers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and service.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a general management role, ideally within warehousing and e-commerce sectors.
  • Strong understanding of warehousing operations, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Excellent leadership, delegation and team management skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial management.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the horticultural industry or related fields (perishable foods etc)
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in warehousing and logistics
