This position will be a vital contributor to the product development that enables their products to improve the lives of millions of people worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest within the Biotechnology industry and will be enthusiastic and willing to go the extra mile. The client are open to training individuals with no prior experience.

Due to the nature of this role you will be required on site full time and will need access to a car.

This position may require occasional weekend work and early morning starts in order to meet business needs. With this said the company are happy to offer time back in lieu/ time and a half for any work completed over the weekend.

What will the role involve?

  • Production of prototypes, pre-clinical and clinical trial products for development projects in an ISO 8 clean room facility. Manufacturing batches to time and GMP standards.
  • Performance and product testing for existing and new products.
  • Calibration, and cleaning of facility equipment.
  • Cleaning and assisting with environmental monitoring of the clean-room facility.
  • General housekeeping of the stores area.
  • Undertaking weekly stock checks of consumables.
  • Completing and updating quality records and following the documented quality management system.
  • Contributing to continual improvement activities such as process optimisation, risk management, and waste reduction.
  • All other necessary tasks, as required by the company.

Who are we looking for?

Essential

  • A keen interest within biotechnology
  • A strong team player, who is proactive and recognizes opportunities for improvement.
  • Can communicate effectively with various stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Competent in following and adhering to work instructions, SOP’s and study protocols.
  • Experienced in the utilisation of computer software to manage data and documentation.
  • Can take individual responsibility and work independently for assigned work.
  • Makes effective use of time by effective planning in coordination with time scales defined by the project team / direct line manager.
  • Disciplined in adhering to group objectives.

Desirable

  • Currently working in a graduate/ junior manufacturing technician role
  • Understanding of basic laboratory techniques e.g. use of an analytical balance, use of pipettes, and good laboratory practice.
  • Previous experience of working in a cleanroom and use of aseptic techniques may be an advantage, but full training will be provided if needed
