Job Description:

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Market Risk Manager with a strong background in stress testing and metals markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating market risks associated with our trading activities, particularly in the metals sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement quantitative models for market risk assessment, focusing on metals trading.
  2. Conduct comprehensive stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate potential impacts on the portfolio.
  3. Monitor and analyse market trends, price movements, and volatility in the metals markets.
  4. Collaborate with trading desks to understand risk exposures and provide actionable insights.
  5. Prepare detailed risk reports and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
  6. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies.
  7. Continuously improve risk management methodologies and tools.

Qualifications:

  1. Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in market risk management, with a focus on metals.
  3. Strong proficiency in quantitative modelling and statistical analysis.
  4. Experience with stress testing frameworks and scenario analysis.
  5. Excellent understanding of financial markets, particularly metals.
  6. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Professional certifications such as FRM or CFA.
  2. Experience with risk management software and tools.
  3. Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to market risk.
