  • As the nursery manager you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the nursery and must demonstrate good leadership skills, excellent organisational, ICT, communication and interaction skills.
  • You will organise and oversee staff meetings and parent’s events displaying a commitment to ensuring that all children develop to their full potential within a stimulating, supportive and inclusive environment for children, families and carers.
  • You will also be responsible for maintaining and further enhancing the reputation of the nursery whilst working collaboratively with the Leads overseeing the day to day management, staffing, organisation, planning and smooth running of the nursery.
  • You should have a passion for working in early years and have experience, knowledge and understanding of the current approach of learning through play which we are developing within our setting.
Key Nursery Manager responsibilities will include:
  • Leading by example and managing day to day nursery operations
  • Working closely with operations managers and managing KPI’s
  • Building positive relationships with parents and key interfacing groups
  • Developing a staff team, managing recruitment, induction, ongoing supervisions, conducting regular staff assessments, identifying and sourcing training needs
  • Supervision of the planning and preparation of activities in line with EYFS to develop all aspects of the child's interindividual learning and development
  • Ensuring staff understand and adhere to all nursery policies and procedures
  • Managing budgets and keeping accurate records of staffing, petty cash, and issuing invoices.
  • Managing Staff Rotas and meetings
  • Maintaining accurate records to include accident, incident, medication, registers and risk assessment
  • Marketing the nursery, arranging leaflet drops, open days etc
  • Managing enquiries, conducting show-rounds, and operating a waiting list, as appropriate
  • To attend out of working hours’ activities, including training, staff meetings, parents’ evenings and special events
  • Working 40 Hours per week
As the nursery manager we will support you to inspire the learning of our children and young people in our setting. There will be a number of opportunities for you to develop many leadership skills in this role. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working collaboratively with their team and who has a firm commitment to improving the outcomes for our families. The successful candidate will be:
  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Essential)
  • A minimum of 1 years nursery management experience
  • Ofsted Experience and track record of improving standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Packages
  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Good track record of reliability
