Birchwood is a specialist school in Cardiff for children with complex needs associated with autism. Our welcoming approach blends education and care with therapeutic support. Our pupils who have autism and learning disabilities thrive in small classes with support from a dedicated and creative team of education professionals and therapists. A day in the life of working at Birchwood School includes:

Providing high quality teaching and learning opportunities using a variety of teaching approaches and activities support pupils to make progress towards their agreed accreditations.
Supporting teachers with the planning, preparation, and assessment of learning opportunities.
Assisting with the planning and implementation of off-site activities.
Assisting pupils who require help during morning routines, lunch/break times or with personal care. We are looking for people who are passionate about inclusive education, and have:

Qualification in English & Maths;
Ability to relate well to pupils and build positive and respectful relationships that are on a professional level;
This job role involves regulated activity with children and requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check.
Eligibility for a “Blue Light Card” for additional discounts at a range of retailers;
‘Refer a friend’ scheme - earn up to £1000 per successful permanent referral;
Health Plan - after probation;
