Our Specialist SEN Branch at Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with Bridgend Local Authority to recruit a number of 121 Support Assistants for the Primary, Secondary & Specialist Provisions. You will be tasked with providing 121 Support for childrenwho have a wide range of Additional Learning Needs to access learning in a way that best suits them. All children have a statement and Education plans which legally need to be adhere to. Your mission is to work with your placement school implement the careplan whilst they deliver a curriculum to meet the pupil’s Educational, Communication, Social, Emotional and Behaviour needs.

**The Successful Learning Support Assistant will**:

- Promote the independence, inclusion, and equality of children with a sensory impairment/medical needs/behaviour difficulties or communication disorder within mainstream schools.
- Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model whilst motivating pupils, promoting and reinforcing self-esteem.
- Assist with the development of the personal needs of complex, medical and sensory impaired children, children with behaviour and social or communication difficulties.

**We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who**:

- Will have a big smile that will make each child's face light up when they welcome you at the door.
- thinks on their feet and it helps to be light on them too as children often enjoy a dance.
- A good pair of eyes and ears are essential. Ears to listen and eyes to help them negotiate the school day.
- You'll need to bring oodles of patience and a sense of humour.

If you have a background in residential, medical care or have experience with challenging behaviour this could be an ideal opportunity for you. If you are worried that you haven’t had specific experience working with Children who have Additional Learning,please do not worry any longer.
