The Vacancy

Lewisham College require a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of GCSE & FS English Lecturer in our  ESOL English Department

The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high quality learning programmes across a range of levels, as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties. Successful applicants will have significant experience of teaching English to young people (14-19) at GCSE level.

The candidate must be qualified to degree level or qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field a post-16 teaching qualification and English and mathematics qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE and a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice. An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines and strong oral and written communication skills are essential requirements.

The hours of work may include evenings and weekends, according to demand. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a well-motivated, cohesive and successful team.
