CrossBoundary provides transaction and investment advisory services, having developed a specialized expertise in unleashing investment across all sectors in these markets. Our advisory clients include governments, development finance institutions, private equity firms, Fortune 100 companies, and research institutions. CrossBoundary is recruiting a full-time Associate Principal to be a key leader in managing select global/regional programs and framework contracts, expand presence and market share with European clients, and support the management of our advisory practice’s various strategic initiatives and organic growth opportunities.
The Associate Principal will oversee implementation of a series of global umbrella contracts and support advisory teams to secure opportunities under these contracts. The Associate Principal will also support advisory teams to track, pursue, and secure growth opportunities with UK and European clients worldwide. This will include building relationships with key UK and European clients, engaging in strategic external outreach with prominent partners in these markets, and sharing procurement opportunities with advisory team members. The Associate Principal will also contribute to strategic proposal efforts, gather data on past proposal efforts and disseminate learnings, and ensure advisory teams are aware of UK and European donor funding trends and intel. This may include reviewing proposals, directly contributing to proposals with new clients, and assisting teams with creating tailored marketing materials and past performance information for specific opportunities in new markets or with new clients.
The Associate Principalwill also work with senior advisory leadership to oversee the firms various strategic initiatives and new lines of business. This will include managing monthly check-in meetings, collecting and disseminating recent successes and lessons learned, and tracking performance against annual targets.
The successful candidate brings a working understanding and experience navigating UK government and European procurement processes, has a successful track record in business development, experience managing donor-funded programs, and has a proven ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously. The Associate Principal will report to the Head of Corporate Development and be supported by the larger Corporate Development Team, including the Business Development Specialist.
Team members come from diverse backgrounds but share several qualities: curiosity, humility, integrity, a drive for excellence, and a bias for action.
Passionate about blended finance, private-sector development, and development finance
Willingness to work and travel in sometimes-challenging environments
Understands the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias - and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities
At least 5 - 7 years’ experience in business development, program management, and/or investment advisory work
Passion and experience working on private-sector development and blended finance initiatives
Strong writer with a clear, active, and direct writing style
Complete contract and key document reviews for advisory teams, as needed
Business Development
Support advisory teams to submit competitive technical and commercial proposals for strategic opportunities including reviewing proposals for quality, clarity, and compliance and providing strategic inputs as needed
Support the development and submission of global and/or regional bids as needed
Participate in external conferences, meetings, and networking events to build and maintain key partner relationships
Analyze data that can be used to improve future business development efforts
Strategic Initiatives & Ad Hoc Support
Provide strategic oversight for the advisory practices’ various strategic initiatives including tracking progress against targets, compiling recent successes, and analyzing the medium to long term viability of specific initiatives
Support the Corporate Development team meet the demand-driven needs of advisory teams across the globe
