Job Description:

  • Closing of LMA Distressed and Par loan trades.
  • Review underlying credit agreements to determine the correct form of assignment of the debt and to ensure that all transfer criteria can be met.
  • Settle trades via ClearPar or on paper documents, where required.
  • In the case of trades to be settled on paper documents, prepare draft trade confirmations, transfer documents and pricing letters (amongst others).
  • Manage the loan trade lifecycle post trade execution and coordinate trade settlements in the Syndicated and Secondary Loan Market.
  • Troubleshoot, escalate, and solve problems that arise from trade discrepancies.
  • Maintain, track, and prioritize all unsettled loan trades.
  • Facilitate amendments, non-pro-rata paydowns, and Credit events.
  • Liaise with front office, legal counsel, tax departments and back office to ensure timely settlements.
  • Co-ordinate and resolve any post trade settlement issues and cash queries with back office and trading counterparties.
  • Collaborate with teammates to streamline processes and create efficiencies.
  • Experience in trade operations processes and servicing bank loans.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of internal and external reports.
  • Liaise with front office, when required, to facilitate pre-trade arrangements.

Role Description:

  • Manage the LMA Closing Team, supervising team members based in both London and Gurgaon.
  • Manage and own the client relationships.
  • Coordination of trade settlements in the Syndicated and Secondary loan market, through relationships with counterparties and the front and back office.
  • Maintain and action a large portfolio of trades in a multitude of deal names and facilities.
  • A proactive and dynamic approach is required towards settling trades and keeping balance sheet exposure low.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and apply analytical/logical thinking.
  • Perform reporting and data mining when required (ad hoc).
  • Assist and participate in the process of new client pursuits through in person and virtual presentations and supporting the sales process in helping solution to prospective client requirements.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 10+ years of overall Loan Closing experience in the LMA Loan Market.
  • Thorough understanding of the Loan Market Association's Standard Terms and Conditions.
  • Good understanding of LSTA Standard Terms.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, hands-on environment.
  • Strong experience in client counterparty management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proficient documentation skills.
  • High proficiency in ClearPar and LoanIQ.
  • High level of computer proficiency and MS Office suite of applications.
  • Graduate any stream (Commerce/Accounting/Economic graduates may have an added advantage).
  • Strong team player.
  • Understanding of Loan and Credit related products.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Work Conditions:

  • UK operating hours Monday through Friday. Readiness to stretch when required.
  • Adhere to UnitedLex and Client confidentiality and information security policies.
  • This position will primarily be Work from Office (WFO) given the nature of business and the client driven security policies and requirements. Work hours would be generally 8am to 5pm with weekends off and UK holidays.
  • Be willing to travel internationally or visit client offices in London if required for business purposes.
