The Ideal Person

This is an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Azure Cloud Platform Engineer who has a deep understanding of and technical lead for all aspects of the Microsoft Azure platform. You will oversee the deployment, management and optimization of the Azure cloud infrastructure as well as supporting Azure across the development teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable Azure cloud architecture to meet business requirements
  • Manage deployment and configuration of Azure resources and services
  • Monitor and optimise the performance and availability of Azure services and resources
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Azure infrastructure issues
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth integration of Azure services with other systems
  • Improve efficiencies and reduce costs
  • Develop and maintain security policies and procedures for Azure environments and ultimately ISO27001
  • Keep up-to-date with emerging Azure cloud technologies and trends
  • Provide guidance and training to other team members on Azure cloud technology and best practices
  • Minimum of 5 years’ successful experience in designing, implementing and managing Azure cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of Azure PaaS architecture, services and resources
  • Experience with Azure SQL configurations
  • Experience with Azure Front Door and WAF configurations
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory including access management and identity protection
  • Proficient with scripting languages such as PowerShell / Azure CLI and/or Bash
  • Experience with Azure instrumentation including Application Insights, diagnostics and logging
  • Wide ranging knowledge of Azure Security standards, configurations and compliance (ISO)
  • 'Can do' attitude, a creative thinker who can add value in stakeholder meetings
  • Successful experience of mentoring and coaching team members
  • Proven ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to liaise with clients face to face, online or over phone
  • Good organisational skills
  • Experience in Terraform / Bicep and ARM templates
  • Experience with Azure Kubernetes
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory
  • Experience with Azure Logic Apps
  • Microsoft Sentinel
