An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinical nurse specialist nurse to join our gynae oncology team at UCH. You would be a motivated individual with a passion for Women's Health. You would have significant experience in all aspects of gynae oncology. You will be expected lead the CNS team and strive to look for chances to improve the care of our patients and welcome opportunities to do so. We are a small team of motivated and friendly nurses working closely alongside a medical team who lead on Women's Health research both nationally and internationally. We see a variety of patients in a busy outpatient setting and work closely with the inpatient ward nursing team.There will be chances to develop leadership skills through in-house training within this post.The role of the Lead CNS is to line manage the nursing team and to ensure the daily running of the service. Maintaining high standards of clinical care at all times.


The role would include:o Supervision of a team of nurses an support workerso Co-ordination of the clinics to the smooth running of clinicso Providing leadership and management to nursing teamo Ensuring safe, kind and compassionate care for our patientso Maintaining safe staffing levelso Dealing with patient queries arising throughout the day in the department and liaising with medical teams and ensure appropriate escalationo Run and support nurse-led outpatient clinicso Providing a high level of clinical support in outpatient and inpatient settingso Demonstrating good communication skills with colleagues, patients and their carerso Being open to change in the department and learning new skills as neededo Demonstrating teamwork by being flexible and building good working relationships with colleagueso Providing education and support to nursing teamo Responsible for the safe administration and custody of medicationso Challenging those who are not meeting the standards of the Trust or following local policieso Supporting research within the department

Completed Honours Degree in Nursing, midwifery, research or ethics
Completed or working towards a Master's Degree in nursing, midwifery, research, ethics or relevant subject.
