We currently have an exciting opportunity to join theChildren’s Community Nursing Team. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiasticCommunity Play Specialist (Band 5)who islooking to develop their skills in the largest community healthcare trust in London

The postholder will work within the Children’s Community Nursing Team, alongside a second play specialist, visiting children in the community,providing home based therapeutic play for children with complex health needs and life limiting conditions, living in Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Westminster. You will also provide emotional support for children and their siblings through the combined use of focused developmental and therapeutic play; help children prepare for medical / nursing procedures through preparation play and provide support through bereavement issues for children, their siblings and peer groups.

The team provides a service to children and young people aged 0 - 18 years, and works across the 3 London Boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Westminster. The team works closely with colleagues in Primary Care, hospitals, social services and education.

This post is for 22.5 hours per week, and may include occasional weekend work. The organisation is supportive of training needs and there is an excellent mandatory training and education programme. You will also receive regular clinical supervision and safeguarding supervision.

You will need to be passionate about children, enjoy working as a team as well as being an autonomous practitioner.
