United Kingdom Right International Full time

Our client is a general insurance broker who is backed by a major private equity group. They have embarked on a new phase of strategic growth following several recent acquisitions and a number in the pipeline. As part of this expansion, they are seeking a Programme Director to shape their growth and lead their operational strategy. Reporting to the CEO and part of the Executive team The Programme Director will drive their change and integration agenda, with direct support from the PMO and project managers. Overseeing critical business transformation and integration initiatives, you’ll ensure these key deliverables align with the client’s broader business objectives and are executed successfully.

You’ll also provide operational oversight for Business Systems, IT & Technology, and second-line Risk and Compliance teams. While these responsibilities will transition gradually, they form a vital part of this multifaceted role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the company’s transformation agenda, ensuring successful integration and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Oversee IT, technology, and compliance teams, providing leadership and fostering collaboration.
  • Deliver business-wide operational change initiatives, leveraging technology and innovation to drive efficiency and growth.
  • Manage critical M&A processes, integrating acquisitions into a cohesive strategy and supporting ongoing business development.
  • Over 10 years in mid-market general insurance sector, with a specialty in niche or commercial lines along with proven experience in business and operational change management.
  • Familiarity with “buy and build” strategies in private equity-backed environments, ensuring seamless acquisition integrations.
  • Strong regulatory knowledge and ability to apply it effectively within business operations.
  • Demonstrated success in planning and executing innovative insurance solutions.
  • Experience working in private equity-backed environments, with a track record of delivering results in “buy and build” strategies.
  • Comfortable working at the executive level as you are rolling up your sleeves and working through operational challenges.
  • Strong project management skills and an ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced settings.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to “getting things done.”
  • Experience leading initiatives across IT, systems, technology, regulatory, and operational areas.
  • A collaborative, empathetic, and low-ego approach to managing teams and navigating change.
