Materials Planning Manager

The Planning Manager will ensure all correspondence and communications with the customer are carried out in a timely and professional manner at all times. Become the go-to person for your area of responsibility.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate communications.
- Analyse and interpret customer schedule requirements to ensure on time deliveries.
- Analyse, communicate with and schedule on suppliers and own manufacturing sites ensuring JIT deliveries whilst minimising inventory holdings.
- Ensure the material planning cycle is accurately reflected in our MRP (Material Planning) system.
- Enter or maintain customer schedules, via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and other processes in an accurate and timely manner.
- To be responsible for and the first point of contact for specific customers; maintain and develop existing customers development plans and progress shortages to ensure on time deliveries.
- Analyse, evaluate and action MRP to ensure maximum on time deliveries with minimum inventory holding.

- Continually work to improve working processes, on time deliveries and cost reductions in conjunction with other departments
- Maintain data integrity and support finance, quality and dispatch teams with day-to-day operations.
- Analyse and interpret large sets of data and be able to present in a way in which people will understand.
- Being the key liaison between internal departments and customers.
- Use initiative to resolve issues and not be afraid of making decisions.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience in a very similar role either within Materials, Production or Supply Chain Planning. You will have excellent people management skills as you will be leading a large and diverse team, all with different levels of experience.
You will be determined and driven to succeed, possess excellent customer service skills and be able to prioritise a busy workload and have excellent problem solving skills. Excellent ICT skills will also be required with strong experience in using MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
A background or experience from either a logistics, manufacturing or production environment would be advantageous.
